If my eyes don’t deceive me, that’s a Dragon Blood Tree.

That has to be the coolest tree name ever, and it’s an actual species of tree, native to an arid island chain in Indian Ocean off the Horn of Africa. They’re visually distinctive, which is good for a golf course in a video game.

In video games as in real life, golf courses are carefully crafted theme park versions of nature. The foliage here (and the scenery as well) seem to be an Arabian pastiche, taken from species and buildings that don’t coexist in reality.

The technical execution of this foliage is great, but the mix seems odd to me. I can’t help but think it would come across as surreal as their fly-over states course does to me.
